Tony Mascarello is the landscape designer and a salesman for Patera Landscaping in Omaha, NE. Tony has been in the horticulture industry in some form or fashion for nearly 15 years. He was the production manager at a local wholesale nursery in Bellevue, Nebr. for three years and in that time developed a broad base of plant knowledge and care. He was also responsible for establishing and maintaining the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program at the grower adding to his repertoire of plant care skills and know-how.
Tony has also covered the full realm of landscape installation positions. Starting many years ago as an installer and quickly working his way up to a crew foreman, the leadership skills Tony learned during his active duty time in the United States Marine Corps helped him to prove his worthiness for advancement and value to each company he has been with. Having run his own company for a short time before getting married in 2000, he established his knowledge of the business side of the industry, so that when he got his opportunity to run the landscape division of the company he was with in 2010, he was more than prepared. Due to the recession, that company unfortunately was forced to close its doors the end of 2011 and that is when Tony found himself with his new family at Earl May.
Tony was educated in horticulture at Metropolitan Community College and holds certifications with the Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute for concrete paver installation as well as one for the Aquascape RainXChange program for rain water harvesting systems, among other industry certifications. Tony is passionate about the environment and prides himself on his sustainable landscape design style. He has designed and installed elegant outdoor living spaces for numerous Omaha and surrounding area home owners. Some of the elements incorporated into those living spaces would include water features (both large and small) concrete paver patio and outdoor kitchen spaces, and quiet, relaxing greenspaces to blend the homes into the surrounding space. He prides himself on his drive to deliver to clients his vision of the desires they translate to him for their outdoor living spaces and his absolute insistence that they are pleased with the final product of his vision before he moves on to his next project.
Tony has been married to his wonderful wife Amie since 2000, and together they have 4 amazing kids; Kalynn Michelle (19), Dustin Michael (14), Mason Alexander (3) and Jillian Alexa (2). Also, they remain licensed foster parents in the state of Nebraska and continue to provide a home for children in need as the situations may arise. Tony is an avid hunter and fisherman and loves to spend his summers coaching his son’s baseball games and camping or traveling with his family.
